The atlas covers prehistory and Stone Age Cultures, Indus Civilization, Vedic Age, Age of Buddha, Mauryan India and Gupta Age. In addition it has separate maps for ecomonic, political and cultural aspects of India for the periods 200 BC-AD300; AD300-AD500; and AD500-AD750. The book has a preface and an exhaustive index comprising the coordinates of every historical place marked in the maps.
